Profile of FLORIDA MUSLIM ASSOCIATION

The Musallah was started in June 2003 with just one property which over the years has grown with the Community.The Musallah Serves a Comunnity of 600 Muslim Homes. We have been blessed with a second property next to the original Musallah which has been a great help as it has eased our original burden of parking facilities and also houses our Madrassah of +160 students and 11 Asaatiza. Moulana Shaakir Seedat is our Imam. We also have the assistance and guidance of Moulana Mohammed Seedat from CII. With his help we hope to have many positive developments within our community.

One of our goals is a proper structure which will have a dual purpose of housing a Preschool and Trade School in the morning, a Madrassah in the afternoon. We also envision a youth Centre for the benefit of young girls in our community.

Currently our Maktab is operating out of a 4 bedroom house which is cumbersome for proper growth and development of the Maktab.The Maktab is growing at a faster pace than expected thus we can no longer wait for the building of the Masjid.We have now approached the owners of the property opposite the current Maktab.The owners are willing to sell below market value and this property will be adequate for our current and future needs.
