Meet the Imam
Imam Saeed Malizani, born and raised in Zimbabwe, is a father of 4 who completed his Islamic education, including hifdh al Quran at Iqra Darul Ilm, Harare. Based in Springs, Johannesburg his position as the Imam of Al Ikhwan Musallah and Principal of Springs Islamic Information Centre and Madressah allows him to realise his passion of building up the youth into responsible, Allah fearing citizens that have a direction and a sense of purpose.
With his extensive background in Psychology he also lends his focus to the family structure within the community. He hopes to inspire a continuous chain of responsible (holistic) Islamic leadership that will establish and maintain a balanced society enshrined in the timeless ethos of Islam. He serves the community in the following roles:
- Daily Salah

- Theological Advisor to Muslim Educational and Social Services Agency
- Mental Health Wellness Workshops
- Madressah Teacher Training Program
How does the Imam Development Program assist him?
As the leader of the community, the Imam is not only tasked with leading the 5 daily prayers but is responsible for introducing our children to Islam, advising our youth, patching up broken marriages, feeding the hungry, guiding the sinner to find absolution, giving hope to the hopeless; all with the ultimate aim of reconnecting everyone back to their Lord. Sadly, the men and women who are the heart and soul of the masjid; responsible for leading it and its congregation are many times neglected, under-resourced, under-skilled, overworked and overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task on their shoulders.
With the Imam Development Program, Imams receive a financial & development package. They receive targeted training and skills development focusing on key areas such as - Iman & Ihsan, Further Education studies, Public Speaking & engagement, Counselling & Problem-solving skills, and Essential emergency response care. All these contribute to enhancing the skill set of the Imam, adequately preparing him to deal with the needs of his community.
IDP also takes care of the Imam so he can take care of YOU!
