TARGET
"From Darkness to Light"
Our Core Value: Provision of eye-care facilities to underprivileged communities aimed to treat catarct and other preventable blindness regardless of colour, race & creed.
The Islamic Medical Association of South Africa IMASA provides health & medical care to the disadvantaged communities in South Africa.
IMASA is well-known amongst the Government Departments especially the Department of Health. Cataract is one of the most thriving projects. In March 2019 we have successfully performed 6100 operations in total since its inception in 2005.
Cataract is one of the leading causes of blindness and typically progresses slowly causing vision loss and potentially blinding if left untreated.
With the Public Hospitals unable to cope with the waiting list in South Africa, IMASA has decided to play a role in reducing their burden.
Funding for this projects is raised by the IMASA, Pakistani Community, sister organizations and community members.
Cataract camps are facilitated monthly in the Gauteng region performing operations on +- 30-40 patients in one day. Special camps are hosted throughout the year, some successfully operating on X100 patients over 3 days. Similar Campsare coordinated in various regions such as: Tshwane, Klerksdorp, Durban etc
You can also be a part of this noble cause by donating towards at least one Cataract Operation - R1200 pp
