Communications coordinator at Penny Appeal, Ettione (Etto) Ferreira is gearing up for the FNB Durban 10k Run taking place on the 13th of October. Etto is not only taking to the road she is also raising funds for The Breakfast Club, a project of Penny Appeal South Africa.
The Breakfast Club provides learners in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and primary schools with daily breakfast meals at school to ensure that they have a good start to their day. The project is aimed at assisting schools with finding sustainable nutrition initiatives for the long term. With hundreds of children have been fed through the Breakfast Club across South Africa.
More about Etto:
Hobbies: Archery and Photography
I have always wanted to help in a meaningful way to change the circumstances of those less fortunate. There are so many children out there who suffer and do not even have breakfast to eat each morning due to poverty. These children deserve a meal to nourish them throughout the day so they can focus on their school work. I enjoy partaking in marathons – even if I’m not the fastest one there I enjoy the spirit and fun atmosphere of these type of events. With Penny Appeal I can have a great day AND raise funds for an amazing project – it’s a win-win!
