WHY SPONSOR A PALESTINIAN STUDENT? Palestinian schools, universities and education institutions have and continue to contribute to sustaining Palestinian national life for a geographically fragmented people while also providing the skills for personal development and growth. Youth comprise one third of the Palestinian population and the majority live under the poverty line with only 12% being able to complete their studies within a standard timeframe. Education is a source of both hope and economic transformation and the educational support for Palestinian youth as the builders of the present and the future nation, is vital to the development of an efficient economic, political and social system.
